Most think of Fire adepts as volatile-tempered. Scorius seems quite the opposite.... calm, rational, very difficult to rouse to anger... even courteous and good humored in most situations. As a mentor however, he is harsh and unrelenting. He will push his students to their limits, and only if they can learn to keep their temper in check will he teach them the greater secrets of fire magic. To Scorius this is as vital as a beginner acrobat first learning how to fall without being hurt... it is essential to the safety of the student and others, and no conscientious mentor would skip this step when teaching something as potent and dangerous as the explosive power of fire. If a potential student can thrive under his drill-sergeant like tutelage, the combination of discipline and skill they gain will forge them them powerful and steadfast allies and terrifying foes.
