For shorts & goggles... another planar dragon. This one was tough to shrink due to all the segmented armor parts... the hatchling didn't come out as clear as I'd like but at least the adult looks good.
I can undersand, life can make one very busy... I barely have time for my own stuff, let alone other things like commisions and requests... Like I sai I enjoy them, and you are a very talented artist. I'm just getting into digital painting myself, so I like finding good stuff like this!
Yep drew it without a reference, after looking back I got lots of stuff wrong, but captured the gist of it at least. It is indeed a rust monster... according to Planescape rust monsters are the larval form of the rust dragons of Acheron. Like most larvae their purpose at that stage is to eat and grow... once they've gotten big enough, they somehow find their way to Acheron, burrow into one of the continent-sized floating cubes there, and spin a metallic cocoon. Later they emerge from the cocoon as 'hatchling' rust dragons.
They're described as being somewhat insect-like in appearance, the original imagery of the rust dragon from Planescape gave it a vaguely armor plated appearance and tiny, butterfly-like wings. I made my own interpretation with more exoskeleton-like armor plating. The wings were inspired by SanctumArt's Shrieker... they look much more functional and make more sense to me than than tiny butterfly wings, lol...
Not all rust dragons are oxidized iron colored, they can look like any tarnished or corroded metal, for this one I chose a sort of yellow patina'd bronze.
